How do I update an existing CyberSource API security key or create a new one altogether?

Answer

When updating your security keys for any of the following Connection Methods, you will need to visit the Transaction Security Keys pages within the Enterprise Business Center.

SCMP API
Simple Order API
SOAP Toolkit

Note: For any of the connection methods in use here, please remember that once you have generated your new encryption keys you will then need to deploy them to all servers that are attempting to connect to CyberSource for transaction processing within the given environment.

 

SCMP API

  1. Login to the appropriate environment for the Enterprise Business Center:
Test Environment:     https://ebctest.cybersource.com
Production Environment:  https://ebc.cybersource.com
  1. From the Account Management tab, click on Transaction Security Keys.
  2. Click on Transaction Security Keys for the SCMP API.

From the SCMP Keys Management page, you will be able to generate new SCMP key pairs as well as delete any unwanted/unused pairs that already exist on CyberSource servers.

To Generate a New SCMP Key Pair

  1. Click on 2048-bit Key.  This initiates the key generation applet.
  2. Once the applet screen appears, click on Generate Certificate Request.
  3. Within the Save dialog box, select the secure location on the current server in which you wish to save the key pair

To Delete an Unused SCMP Key Pair

  1. Select the checkbox for the key pair you wish to delete.
  2. Click on Delete to remove that set of keys from CyberSource servers.

 

Simple Order API

  1. Login to the appropriate environment for the Enterprise Business Center:
Test Environment:     https://ebctest.cybersource.com
Production Environment:  https://ebc.cybersource.com
  1. From the Account Management tab, click on Transaction Security Keys.
  2. Click on Security Keys for the Simple Order API.

From the Simple Order API Key Management page, you be able to generate a new Simple Order API (.p12) key as well as delete any unwanted/unused keys that already exist on CyberSource servers.
 

To Generate a Simple Order API (.p12) Key

  1. Click on 2048-bit Key.  This initiates the key generation applet.
  2. Once the applet screen appears, click on Generate Certificate Request.
  3. Within the Save dialog box, select the secure location on the current server in which you wish to save the key file.

 

To Delete an Unused Simple Order API (.p12) Key

  1. Select the checkbox for the key you wish to delete.
  2. Click on Delete to remove the selected key from CyberSource servers.

 

SOAP Toolkit

  1. Login to the appropriate environment for the Enterprise Business Center:

Production Environment: https://ebc.cybersource.com

  1. From the Account Management tab, click on Transaction Security Keys.
  2. Click on Security Keys for the SOAP Toolkit API.

From the SOAP Toolkit Key Management page, you are able to generate a new SOAP Toolkit key as well as delete any unwanted/unused keys that are already exist on CyberSource servers.
 

To Generate a New SOAP Toolkit Key

  1. Click on Generate Key.
  2. You may either manually copy the key string value from the textbox displayed on-screen, or click Download to select a secure location on your computer to save the key string generated as a text file.


To Delete an Unused SOAP Toolkit Key

  1. Select the checkbox for the key you wish to delete.
  2. Click on Delete to remove the selected key from CyberSource servers.
