Definition

The On-Demand Single Transaction Query (also known as the Single Transaction Query) is a method for determining a transaction's status in real time. This is especially useful in the event of transaction timeouts, as it will confirm if the transaction reached CyberSource and/or was processed.

How it works

An HTTP POST request is sent to CyberSource with a merchant-supplied transaction identifier, and an XML format Transaction Detail Report record(s) is returned. Unlike the normal Transaction Detail Report which contains details of all the transactions for a given date, the Single Transaction Query returns only the transaction record for the submitted transaction identifier.
