Definition

A payment processor is an entity to which CyberSource sends all payment requests, such as authorizations, captures, and credits. The payment processor obtains an authorization from your customer's card-issuing bank, and returns the authorization to CyberSource. CyberSource, in turn, passes on the authorization to you.

Before you begin accepting customer orders, you must identify which payment processor to use; your acquiring bank determines this.
