Requirements

You must generate and download a unique security key for each environment: Test or Production (Live),in which you submit transactions.

 

Simple Commerce Message Protocol (SCMP) security keys expire every two years. 

Generate a SCMP API Security Key from Business Center

  1. Sign in to appropriate Business Center environment: Test or Production (Live) where the key will be used.
  2. Select Payment Configurations > Key Management > Generate Key.
  3. Select SCMP under Legacy Key types.
  4. Select Generate Key.
  5. Select Download key which will generate the certificate file (.crt)
  6. specify the location to save the file to.
All SCMP security keys use the filename format merchant_id.crt. Please note the location you save the key to. If you are unable to find it, you will have to generate a new one.

 

Note: As a security best practice, delete any copies of keys from your clipboard and/or system memory cache.
