The following table describes the current state of readiness for processors connecting with Cybersource.

 

As with any major change EMV® 3DS authentication, Strong Customer Authentication (SCA) requirements present new challenges that all participants are working to meet.


Implementation dates presented may change as they are dependent on a number of factors, including certification completion and connectivity testing. This table will be updated to reflect changes as they are reported.

Advice for customers of Cybersource Payer Authentication

If you have been running 3DS 1, and either your acquirer or the Cybersource processor is not yet ready for testing of your EMV 3DS service, simply configure Payer Authentication to run 3DS 1 until your acquirer and the processor are ready for EMV 3DS 2. You will still benefit from the 3DS liability shift and issuers can apply risk-based authentication and step-up transactions. This is a workable solution until all parties are ready for EMV 3DS 2.

If you do not support 3DS 1, and your EMV 3DS implementation is ahead of your acquirer or the Cybersource gateway, please contact CyberSource Client Services for assistance establishing an interim plan for your business.
